Learning and Development

In the years before school, your child will develop faster than at any other time in their life.

From birth, children are natural learners and we know that each child will learn and develop differently. During the first five years of their life, they will develop more rapidly than at any other time. We work to ensure that your child achieves their full potential and makes the most of their talents and abilities to ensure that they have the best possible start to life.

Your child will be monitored by their key person, who assesses how they are developing and uses this to design activities to support their development. We will use your child's interests to create games which support their next steps and our learning programme is based around the concept of learning through play.

Activities tailored to your child

Children are natural learners from birth and we recognise that every child will learn and develop differently. Your child will have a dedicated key person, who gets to know what makes them unique and tracks their development in order to plan activities based around them.

An experienced team helping your child as they grow

Our team are qualified childcare professionals and have years of experience in how to support child development. We believe in continuous training, so that the staff looking after your child will know the latest techniques and best practice to help them grow.

We have many longstanding members of staff, meaning that they are able to follow your child’s progress as they develop into confident youngsters.

Working together with you as your child develops

We know that your child’s development isn’t just confined to their time at nursery, so we work closely with you to understand your child’s individual wants, needs and progress at home. Using this information, we are able to better support your child in their development at nursery.

Supporting each child's development

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, published by the Department for Education. The Framework looks to promote development in seven areas of learning.

We focus on the following areas of development:

Personal, social and emotional development
Physical development
Communication and language
Understanding the world
Expressive art and design

More information about the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework is available from the Foundation Years website.
